Integrated CEREC® technology into my practice in 2008. At that time, I became deeply passionate about advocating for digital dentistry and CAD/CAM workflows, and that led me to doing speaking engagements at major international conferences and mentoring clinicians worldwide through lectures and hands-on workshops.

For many of the restorations that I fabricate in my practice, I use innovative materials from Aidite, including 3D Pro zir® Ultra, which we’ve integrated with Dentsply Sirona’s robust digital ecosystem to streamline our chairside workflow. The process starts with a digital impression using the Primescan®. The scan is then imported into the CEREC 5.3.3 software, where I design the restoration with confidence, knowing the intuitive interface will help optimize both form and function.

Next, the restoration is milled from Aidite’s 3D Pro zir Ultra block on the CEREC Primemill. Aidite’s 3D Pro zir Ultra is not only strong and highly translucent but also able to mimic the natural esthetics that we aim to replicate in our restorations. To make it compatible with our workflow, I order the CEREC version.

What stands out with the 3D Pro zir Ultra block is its smooth, layerless color transition, which simulates the natural gradient of tooth enamel. The material gradually shifts in translucency from 57% at the occlusal surface to 43% at the cervical aspect, enhancing its lifelike appearance. In addition, the block is engineered with a biomimetic concept: the occlusal layer demonstrates slightly lower strength than the cervical base. This design helps minimize wear on the opposing dentition, which is a thoughtful detail that many clinicians and patients appreciate.

After sintering, I move on to esthetic finishing with Aidite’s Biomic Stain/Glaze. The Biomic Stain/Glaze system is specifically designed for CAD/CAM restorations, and it offers both 2D paste colors and 3D effects. This combination enables you to quickly and predictably build natural esthetics without a steep learning curve. It’s an efficient and effective solution for adding depth and vitality to your final result.
