The nomination process for The Medicine Maker 2025 Innovation Awards is in full swing – and we want to hear from you. These annual awards celebrate the most exciting new technologies driving advances in drug development and manufacturing. Use the online short form to submit a nomination.We welcome entries across the full spectrum of pharma and biopharma innovation – including technologies for small molecules, antibodies and biologics, and cell and gene therapies. Whether it’s a breakthrough bioreactor, a clever software solution, a new excipient, or a next-generation robotic platform – if your technology has launched, or will launch, between November 1, 2024 and December 31, 2025, it is eligible.Nominations close at midday (GMT) on November 7, 2025. A shortlist of finalists will be published in the November/December issue of The Medicine Maker.Finalists for 2024 included AI-based systems, drug discovery platforms, nanoformulation technology, capsid analysis kits, and more. The grand winner was the mPredict Co-Crystal Prediction Service, which uses AI to predict optimal co-formers for an API.“Co-crystallization is a relatively new chemical approach to enhance drug solubility, where an API is combined with a pharmaceutically acceptable co-former in a co-crystal structure,” explained Daniel Price, Head of Excipients Business at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. “The resulting co-crystals have unique properties that can address challenges related to drug manufacturability, solubility, stability, and bioavailability.”The winner of the 2025 awards will have the opportunity to share the development story behind their platform.
